So today I find out that the contractor we hired to remodel our bakery, Marc Labate of Allied Construction, was sued and LOST in small claims court to another victim we will call Bee. Bee is one of the victims in a group of us that try to stay in touch with any updated news. From what I understand, she won her case and was awarded a good amount in damages. As of this writing, I understand she is having difficulty collecting a penny of it. (No suprise.) Another victim, who we will call Joan, settled during mediation prior to this claim.
We are awaiting the next case against Marc involving another woman who we will call Mary. Mary has been in touch with many of the victims and has gathered statements and references and forwarded them to detectives at the Austin Police Department.
And I was contacted by another victim, whom I will call X, who told me he had the same situation after hiring Marc Labate on Craigslist. The numbers keep growing by the day...

Sounds like you might have a class action on your hands. Maybe that doesn't work if multiple people have already filed individual suits, though.
Apparently APD has not done much as of yet. Wish something could be done.
I was someone who dealt with Labate/Allied and it got nasty. I won't go into details here. BUT .. .wanted you guys to know that APD called us about gathering fraud information and is taking this seriously now. When I get the details of who's working on this with APD, I'll let you know.
We are just finding all this out about the man. He must be stopped. He is hurting many people and there must be a group effort to demand action from the authorities!
Is Marc Labate in jail yet? If not, run as far away from this person and his company or you will regret your decision for eternity. He is truly a dishonest person with no morals what so ever. As you can see by all of these negative posts, it doesn’t bother Marc LaBate a bit to cheat his way through life by screwing others. If you need additional reasons to stay clear, check out how many times he has been sued in court or through mediation in the state of Texas.
